Well curated museum, very informative and good way to learn about Vikings and their way of life. Would recommend if you’re in town for a short period, takes about an hour to see everything

Staff were absolutely lovely and I couldn't fault them but it was an incredibly expensive experience for essential a 10 minute video and a few interactive screens.

Das Museum liegt unter dem Souvenir-Shop und man muss im Shop warten während der Eingangsfilm läuft.Alles ist komplett digital, was der Grund war weshalb wir hin sind - und der Grund ist, weshalb wir zukünftig wieder in normale Museen gehen werden.Aber von Beginn an:Das Ganze kostet für Kinder unter 6 nichts, für Erwachsene 250NOK.Dafür bekommt man einen wirklich gut gemachten und informativen Film in der eigenen Sprache (Auswahl aus gut 10 Sprachen über iPads mit Kopfhörern) geboten.Im Anschluss kann man sich vertiefend an zwei interaktiven Tafeln über die im Film genannten Dinge informieren.Es gibt free Wifi damit man ein Wikinger-Selfie vor einem Greenscreen machen und kostenlos aufs Handy schicken kann.Das funktioniert gut - zumindest so lange man die digitalen Schmankerl wie bspw. einen Helm nicht nutzen will.Man kann verschiedene Sachen (ein Langhaus oder eine Festung) digital von allen Seiten anschauen.Das war schon interessant. Die Ausstellungsstücke (aus dem Museum in Oslo, glaube ich) die man auf Touchscreens ansehen kann sind aber weder beschriftet noch sonderlich gut eingescannt. Da bleibt der Spaß auf der Strecke.Wo reguläre Museen sich Mühe geben auch Vorschulkindern Sachen nahezubringen wird hier darauf verzichtet, dabei hätte sich das hier total angeboten, eben durch die Digitalisierung.Das einzige Angebot das uns tatsächlich lang beschäftigt hat war die Mal-Ecke.Zusammengefasst kann ich sagen, dass der Grundgedanke klasse ist, die Umsetzung aber noch viel Luft nach oben hat.Da zwei Sterne gemein wären bei der Arbeit die da reingesteckt wurde und das Museum auch noch sehr jung ist (2022 eröffnet), finde ich drei Sterne hier angebracht.

Can't understand the good reviews! The biggest waste of money you can imagine! £15-20 to watch a 10 minute video then to press a few things on some screens. Nothing to see here, really wouldn't waste your time. The gift shop is ridiculously expensive as well. But what isn't in Norway!

A wonderful friendly place to visit. We stopped in first for the shop which has some lovely examples of viking items to purchase and then the museum. There is a lot included and all of it is interactive and movable. You can even have pictures taken (free) and emailed to you.

A brilliant interactive museum.Visited on a cruise, the staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgable, they showed us how to use the digital exhibits.These were really easy to use and allowed you to explore Viking culture and crafts in great detail.There were at least 10 languages available.The interactive selfie booth was great fun!The shop was well priced and had crafts from local artisans.

This was the highlight of our visit to Haugesund. Friendly staff, very informative (even get to learn the viking alphabet) and lots of fun with the selfie machine. If we didn't have lots more we wanted to see we would have stayed longer.

Short video to start with which was OK. Then pretty much just reading screens. No artefacts to look at. I've definitely been to more exciting Viking places. Would not recommend for young children. The staff were lovely and there was a good gift shop.

Really was a waste of money , nothing to actually see really just a few things on some screens would not recommend at all ! The staff were very friendly though. Also there was a very off putting smell from the place that made us leave even quicker.
