Intermission Hostel

Location: great! Less than 5 minutes' walk from train station. Atmosphere: pretty good. Lots of people coming and going. Good areas to socialize. Cleanliness: ehhh. It was raining both nights we were there so it was pretty muggy. Bathrooms weren't terribly clean and constantly smelt like poop. I don't think they wash the bed linen between guests. Facilities: pretty good. Nice, fully equipped kitchen. Free coffee and tea in the morning and evening. Biggest gripe: tons of lights left on all night in the hostel makes it hard to sleep.

Great hostel! Very clean and lots of space. Staff is very friendly and there's an overall great atmosphere in the hostel. The living room is a great area to just hang out and meet people, play music or play games. Close to the city centre and bus/train station. Had a great stay here!

Amazing, the staff is super friendly and young, they come from the US so they speak english and have many stories to share since they come from the other side of the earth. I first thought 31 people in the same bed room would be terrible, but it turned out since the space is huge that you don't really hear a thing. I slept until 9 to 10 am somedays, without any sound waking me up. They make waffles for free twice a week, which is a good opportunity to meet the other travelers. A lot of solo travelers. The staff even went to hike with us on their free day. It was amazing, and according to my research you won't find any cheaper place to stay in Bergen.

Tiene un ambiente en el cual están colocadas las 24 camas (12 cuchetas) si te tocan las que están cerca de baños y duchas te va a molestar la luz y la pasada de la gente.Cocina equipada..Cerca de la estación de trenes y a 1 km del centro.

Muito desorganizado.OVERBOOKED. Reservei duas noites e no sistema só tinha uma, tinha gente dormindo no sofá, em colchão no chão e em saco de dormir.Um gato do local subia nas camas.COMPARTILHAMENTO DE ROUPAS DE CAMA USADAS DE OUTROS HÓSPEDES. Possível transmissão de MONKEYPOX por esse motivo. Não tive coragem de ficar duas noites, paguei por duas, mas depois da primeira fui embora.

Great hostel with a really good atmosphere and friendly staff. The dorm is good and the beds are comfortable. Likewise the showers are excellent and the kitchen facilities were very good.The common room was an excellent place to hang out in and spend time playing guitar, chess or watch netflix with the staff. Overall this was a fantastic place to stay and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Bergen.

Matratzen sind sehr schlecht, man fühlt das Rost durch. Es gibt keine Steckdosen am Bett. Im Sommer kann es warm und stickig im Zimmer werden. Duschen sind ganz gut. Es gibt aber deutlich zuwenig Toiletten für ca. 30 Betten im Schlafsaal. Bei mir war es nicht voll, aber die zwei Toiletten im Zimmer waren morgens immer belegt.Atmosphäre ist top. Positiv sind die Menschen und die Gemeinschaft dort. Da fühlt man sich wohl. Sehr nette Volunteerer, die hauptsächlich sich ums ganze Hostel kümmern. Wir haben auch mal zusammen Karten gespielt und es gab Cookies.Die Küche ist auch sehr gut ausgestattet, wirklich alles da, was man braucht und daheim auch hat. Es gibt eine Spülmaschine.Sauberkeit könnte besser sein.Leider muss ich anmerken, dass ich es nicht gut finde, dass viele Bibel-Zitate und andere christliche sachen an den Wänden und an Gegenständen hängen. Für Offenheit aller Kulturen und Glaubensgemeinschaften, sollten diese abgehängt werden. Es ist ja kein kirchliches Hostel.Das Frühstück ist ok für 50 Kronen, es könnte aber mehr Vielfalt an Brot geben (bei mir gabs nur Auftaubrötchen) und auch Hafermilch, anstatt nur normale Milch.

Lovely staff and building with and old charm, and that’s about it. Disgusting showers, cleaner toilet, there’s no duvet so you use a blanket (not sure if washed every time), clean kitchen. Good for one night due to train station and city proximity.

Really really friendly staff. We showed up at a weird hour (6 am) and they were still able to accommodate us.They also have free Norwegian waffles Tuesdays and Thursdays. Breakfast is cheap, fresh, and delicious. There’s a piano and guitar to mess around with too. The one downside is the rooms: it’s a little old and run down, but I mean it’s clean and well maintained. Bathrooms are clean. For a building from the 1700s it has aged well.And it’s like a 5 minute walk into old town. Absolutely would stay here again.
