Around 50% of the trek is through forest and remainder takes you above the treeline. Give it a pass if it's muggy out, as it will get wet and muddy.TAKE CARE to spot where the hike starts, there's a popular lake that uses the same parking lot; the trail is up a tractor track IMMEDIATELY to the front/right after passing the gate.
