Review and note on the «grumpy» old guyFirst, I think it’s important to understand that this is more of a B&B, than an Airbnb or hotel. This is a local person with local traditions who has opened up his home to travelers. He doesn’t speak a lot of English but if you just keep some basic manners you will have no issues here. These are just basic things, if you’re wet, don’t walk into the house without removing your wet clothing, offer to take your shoes off before moving about in the house, and if the kitchen is open till 22:00 understand that this might be because he himself uses it for us night tea.For the price you won’t get much better in Norway, clean bathrooms, big, open kitchen, cutlery and everything you need for a stay. We got it for 400 per person in one of the smaller rooms.

We had a very bad experience with this place. They are nort reliable as we booked for three nights and confirmed we are coming the same day by e-mail but the owner gave our rooms away. As a result we were stranded in the overbooked Odda for the night. We recommend to avoid this property.

Grei overnatting i rolige omgivelser. Rent og pent. Perfekt hvis man er på gjennomreise og trenger et sted å sove.

Beware of the grumpy old man !It was a rainy day and my friends and I were travelling by bike. When we arrived at the Odda Hytte, the person in charge tried to get rid of us immediately. He said everything was fully booked and did not want to talk to us.Only when we showed him our reservation he started talking to us.He then said that no wet clothes are allowed, told us to remove our clothes to enter the room and took our passports.At the point when we noticed that our room did not even have blankets, we decided to leave.It’s possible that the host just has an antipathy against cyclists, but we he definitely did not treat us in an appropriate manner.

A great guest house that requires a bit of digging to find out about.It does not appear on traditional booking sites, but is worth the effort of booking via email or a phone call to the owners.Nice rooms (ranging from tiny to huge) are available for great prices. A fully equipped kitchen is both a fantastic way to avoid paying extra at the expensive eateries in the area, and a great way to meet other people staying in the guesthouse. the rooms were clean and well kept. Access to Trolltunga via shuttle. highly recommended

Backpacker style. Great fun.

A cute little house that’s been refurbished to host travelers and guests. We ended up here as we didn’t want to sleep in our tent in the pouring rain and all other accommodations were fully booked. It’s a very standard and low-key house, but it was clean and well kept and gave us much needed shelter from the horrendously bad weather. In the house there is a fully equipped kitchen that guests can use as well as two bathrooms and a living room with a TV. We had the smallest room with two bunk beds, but they were comfortable to sleep in and high in value for the very low price we paid.Note that the kitchen closes at 22, check out is before noon and you have to bring your own bedding (or pay extra to loan some). Would definitely recommend for casual travelers on a budget :)

We had a bad experience, one of our motorcycles broke down and we were waiting for a repair the owners forced us to leave the property we were not welcome to even sit outside; they were very rude.

Skulle på tur til Odda og fjellene rundt der, og etter noe googling og telefoner viste det seg at hotellene var fullbooket - men dette var bare BRA for oss fordi utrolig nok var det ledig her hos Hytte og Gjestegård! På dagens varsel fikk vi den eneste hytten til en helg midt på høysesong, seint i juli. Opplevde at det var mange som måtte snu og kjøre videre....Dette familiebedriftet MÅ bare anbefales, mye mer koselig enn et standard hotellrom! Og det å være i Odda var jo som å være midt i smørøyet pga alle andre turister fra absolutt hele Europa!
